Encoded Ecologies of the Venetian Lagoon
A multi-scala Data-driven computational approach
for dynamic environments

The project combines ecological and architectural scales approaching design and transformation of dynamic environments through advanced computational and robotic technologies. The complexity of the Venetian lagoon ecosystem is encoded into a set of generative data-driven algorithms defining computational methodologies to inform architectural strategies at different scales. This includes selective preservation, modification and transformation of the landscape in a dynamic and ongoing project for the lagoon, thenew local botanical garden and the architectures and technologies that are involved in this complex process. The research aims to initiate a new approach for collaboration between disciplines such diverse and interrelated as geography, ecology, computer science and architecture.
